Eisenstadt (OTS) – Should Governor Hans Peter Doskozil become SPÖ federal party chairman, then in future the SPÖ members should decide on important issues. “My suggestion will be that we enshrine the direct election for the party chairmanship in the statute, but that our members should also decide on any coalition agreements in the future. I want to consistently democratize the SPÖ and give our party back to the members,” Doskozil said today during his “Friendship Tour.”
The party does not belong to a few functionaries who make up everything beforehand and then present the members with a fait accompli – such as the question of whether the SPÖ should nominate a candidate for the federal presidential election or not. “I stand for openness and transparency. Social democracy should become a lively political movement once more, in which the participation of members should play a central role and open discourse on political content should be allowed,” says Hans Peter Doskozil.
