Lithuanian airports: passenger check-in systems are working normally again | Business

“Ground handling companies operating at Lithuanian airports inform that almost all passenger registration systems are working normally again after today’s global IT disruption,” said LTOU representative Tadas Vasiliauskas.

According to him, the disruptions have minimally affected airport operations and passengers.

Large-scale IT outages affected businesses around the world on Friday, disrupting flights, disrupting television broadcasts and disrupting banking operations.

Widespread disruptions have been reported in the US, UK, Germany, India, New Zealand, Australia and elsewhere.

Ryanair and Wizz Air, the companies that organize flights in Lithuania, previously reported problems with online passenger registration and flight reservations.

According to the National Cyber Security Center (NKSC), the incidents are related to the latest update of the CrowdStrike Falcon antivirus software, which caused some Microsoft programs to malfunction.

NKSC said that it has no information about disruptions of critical services in Lithuania, but the impact of the disruption on institutions may still become apparent.
