Milwaukee (Wisconsin)/Washington – In the first TV debate of the Republicans for the 2024 US presidential election, the candidates exchanged blows on factual issues, but largely avoided attacks on their opponent Donald Trump. Only Chris Christie, the presumably hopeless ex-governor of New Jersey, clearly attacked Trump. Topics of debate included abortion bans, Russia’s war once morest Ukraine and the fight once morest illegal immigration from Mexico.
