Team manager Jürgen Klopp addresses Liverpool FC’s bad luck with injuries with realism following the recent and strange loss of defensive player Konstantinos Tsimikas. “We all know that in moments like this we need luck to get through,” said Klopp before the Premier League duel on “Boxing Day” at Burnley FC.

The injury to Tsimikas, who collided with Klopp following a duel on the sidelines in the top game once morest Arsenal (1-1) on Saturday and broke his collarbone, aggravates the Reds’ situation in the left-back position. In addition to Tsimikas, Andrew Robertson is also out; the Scot has dislocated his shoulder and will be out for weeks.

“It’s obviously very difficult for us, it’s really difficult. Sometimes you have injuries and we all accept them, but a broken collarbone is really bad because it just takes a long time,” said a frustrated Klopp, looking at Tsimikas. The coach is currently without Thiago, Alexis Mac Allister and Diogo Jota, among others.

For the duel at Burnley FC on Tuesday (6.30 p.m./Sky), all-purpose weapon Joe Gomez is now expected to move to the left side of the defense; the Englishman has already played as a central and right-back for the LFC this season. “We now have to make sure we wrap Joey up in cotton wool and make sure he’s ready for the game,” Klopp said bluntly.
