Lloret de Mar (Selva) has been the scene of a dozen shootings during 2020, a figure that is half of what it normally hosts. During the presentation of data, the manager of Lloret Turisme, Elizabeth Keegan, explained that most of the recordings take place during the spring, but that last year coincided with the State of Alarm and that, subsequently, ” home confinement stopped all audiovisual activity “. Despite this, the municipality has hosted the shooting of several scenes of the blockbuster ‘Uncharted’ with Mark Walhberg and Antonio Banderas and also series such as ‘El Inocente’, Netflix, Movistar productions ‘Vida Perfecta’ and ‘Todos Mienten’ the Merlin.
Keegan details that usually 80% of the audiovisual productions they host are commercials for brands, but this year they have detected a change in trend with the shooting of series. It is estimated that the direct economic impact on the destination has been about 150,000 euros.
As for 2021, they anticipate a gradual recovery of audiovisual activity. In fact, this January Lloret has already hosted two shootings: an advertisement for the Nescafé brand and an advertisement for a well-known beverage brand that will be shot next week.
Since 2006, Lloret Turisme has had the Lloret Film Office, a member of the Catalunya Film Commission, which aims to manage and facilitate the different types of audiovisual productions and offer free advice based on the needs of producers.
