Canadian martial artist Nathan Skoufis has earned a gold medal at an international Taekwondo event in Scotland.

skoufis triumphed among a field of over 3,500 athletes from more than 40 countries in his competitive division.

The World Tae Kwon-Do Championships is recognized as one of the largest and most notable martial arts tournaments worldwide.

He was the sole North American black belt adult male champion in a fighting division, according to a news release from Guelph Family Martial Arts.
