Locked in her bathroom for three days, a woman rescued by the police

Locked in her bathroom for three days, a Bangkok resident believed she had lost her life there, before the Thai police saved her by forcing the defective door, authorities said on Friday.

The 54-year-old survived by drinking tap water.

Fearing for her life, she left her will on the walls of the cramped room, using cosmetics, police said.

The victim locked herself Monday evening in spite of herself in the bathroom of her home, where she lives alone, an attack of panic having probably contributed to breaking the door handle.

His sister reported him missing to a police station in Bangkok’s Phra Khanong district on Thursday.

“Her sister mightn’t contact her for three days, so she asked the police for help to go and see (the victim), where the front doors were locked from the inside,” explained Phra Khanong police captain Chanchai Sonsiang told AFP.

The victim was in fairly good condition, and did not go to the hospital for an examination, the police said.
