2689 madrassas are operated in MP
According to the Madrassa Board, 2689 madrassas are running across the state. Of these, 1755 have dice code and recognition. According to the District Project Coordinator’s Office, there are 479 such madrassas in Bhopal. However, a large number of such madrassas are running in the state which are not affiliated anywhere. Earlier madrassas used to get grant from the center, but following 2014 the grant stopped because many complaints were being received once morest madrassas.
According to the National President of the Children’s Commission, Priyanka Kanungo, three types of madrassas are running in the country. Accredited or processed and those who have not been contacted by the administration. In the third category are those institutions in which education of Aurangzeb’s era is being imparted. The commission had last year written a letter to the MP government directing it to map privately run madrassas.
