Magali Plovie (Ecolo) was sworn in as a judge at the Constitutional Court, the institution said on Monday, which is now made up of an equal number of men and women.

With a degree in public law from ULB and initiator of deliberative commissions in Brussels, Magali Plovie has been a Brussels deputy since 2012 and head of the Ecolo group on the Forest municipal council.

Her party had indicated that she would leave her political mandate when she took office at the Constitutional Court, which took place on August 30. She replaces Thierry Detienne, who was admitted to the honorariat of the Court at the beginning of August.

“His legal expertise, his rich professional background and his in-depth knowledge of the political world will be very useful to the Court,” underlines the latter.
