Manila ∙ A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Philippines. The tremors were also felt in the capital, Manila. People were evacuated from the buildings. Many buildings were damaged.
People ran out of their houses and buildings. No other damage was reported. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the earthquake was in the mountainous province of Abra.
