Mumbai: The Maharashtra police have arrested five people in connection with the suicide of Nitin Desai, who was the art director of the Hindi film. Edelweiss Group Chairman Rashish Shah is also involved in the FIR in the case. On August 2, Nitin Desai was found dead in his own studio in Karjit, Maharashtra. You had huge financial obligations with the studio. Khalapur police took up the case on the complaint filed by his wife Neha. Sections including Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code have been added to the FIR.
Neha said in the complaint that Nitin had faced severe mental torture due to the loan taken from Edelweiss Group and the five persons in the accused list had threatened him in person and over the phone. Neha said this may have made you commit suicide.
A four-time National Award winner for art direction, Nitin has worked as art director for big budget hits like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Jotha Akbar’.
