Xbox Live Program Director Larry Herb, better known as “Major Nelson”, has announced that he is leaving Xbox to work on the “next chapter” of his career. He thanked millions of gamers around the world for considering him a part of their lives. Hyeryu also expressed his gratitude to all members of the Xbox team, where he worked for twenty years, for allowing him to have a direct dialogue with the company’s customers. He assured that the Xbox has a bright future, and Herb himself, as a gamer, will be happy to watch him. The official Xbox podcast, hosted by Major Nelson, is going on hiatus. It will return in a new format, but it is not yet known when. And Herb himself will first take a vacation and spend it with his family. I want you to know that I have cherished every moment I have been able to interact with you, the community – here on Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, Mixer or at the events I have attended around the world. Every handshake, every time I got stopped on the street during a convention (which happened a lot), every game we discussed, and every photo we took together. The real magic of gaming is the community that creates, plays, enjoys and has fun together. Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, PC, mobile – I don’t care where or how you play. We are all one community.
