A truck where are installed all the necessary machines to make apple juice which traveled this Sunday followingnoon to the Renaudies gardens in Colombiers-du-Plessis near Gorron.

Isabelle is a regular, she comes since five years to press apples from his family’s orchard. “We reserve online, I did it in September, to pretty much do the picking just the day before or the day before.”

When it’s their turn, everyone puts their own fruit in a machine. Florian knows well how the mobile press works, he came with 200 kilos of apples of his grandparents. “We put the apples in the machine. Afterwards, there is a place where it crushes, followingwards, there is a place where it is pressed and therefore comes out the apple juice on one side and apple residue from the ‘other. And then it goes to a place where it’s heated and pasteurized.’

The drink is packaged in the form of bags. And as nothing is lost, everything is transformed, even waste serves a purpose explains Olivier Gillot, the boss of Mouvipress. “The pomace will go into compost for the Renaudies gardens. I was in Normandy, it went into a methanizer, it can go into manure. It remains green waste and it completes the cycle.”
