CLEVELAND (AP) — Defensive tackle Malik Jackson withdraws from the NFL following 10 seasons.

The former Pro Bowler made the announcement Friday on NFL Network.

“That was the goal. From 10 to 12 years old was my goal,” he said. Malik Jackson. “I was able to get to the point where I was fine. I’m doing well. I did enough. I have a daughter and I need to go home and be with her and start living life.”

Malik Jackson played four seasons in Denver following being selected in the fifth round of the 2012 draft out of Tennessee. He helped the Broncos to win the Super Bowl 50 in 2016 before continuing his career with three seasons at Jacksonville.

Jackson was named to the 2017 Pro Bowl following finishing with eight sacks and played the next two seasons in Philadelphia. The 33-year-old spent the 2021 season with Cleveland and saw no action last year.

Malik Jackson he finished with 292 tackles and 35.5 sacks in 142 games.
