MIAMI – A man was arrested following being accused of giving a marijuana-laced candy to an 11-year-old girl and raping her inside a Dolphin Mall bathroom, authorities reported Tuesday.
David Rivero, 33, was arrested Monday and faces a charge of sexual assault of a minor by an adult, the arrest report states.

The incident occurred on December 10 at the shopping center located on Northwest 12th Street in Sweetwater.
According to the report, the minor told her mother that she had been raped by a stranger in the shopping center.
The girl said Rivero gave her “a marijuana gummy” and took her to a bathroom, where he raped her, the report stated.
The minor was taken to a local hospital where she told the same thing to a doctor.
Surveillance video from the Dolphin Mall also shows Rivero and the girl entering a bathroom and leaving later, the report said.
Rivero was transported to jail, where he remains without bail, according to court records.
