A man in his twenties was seriously injured Friday evening following skidding his vehicle in Richelieu, in Montérégie.
The accident occurred around 11 p.m. on the Petite-Savane row. A witness called emergency services following seeing a car rollover. At first glance, the vehicle would have skidded before ending its course in a field.
When they arrived on the scene, the police feared for the life of the driver, aged around twenty, said Captain Mathieu Berger of the Richelieu Saint-Laurent Intermunicipal Police Board.
The latter was quickly transported to a hospital, where there was no longer any fear for his life. Another man in his 20s was also in the vehicle. Fortunately, he was less seriously injured.
An investigation was opened by local authorities who called on the Sûreté du Québec for their expertise in collision investigation.
