A service that tracks flights in the United States showed the plane flying erratically for hours with no clear destination. Leslie Criss, the magazine’s editor who lives in Tupelo, said she woke up to the news on television and social media. Several friends saw the ship flying overhead. “I’ve never seen anything like it in town,” she told the AP. “Scary way to wake up on a Saturday,” she added.
