Maritime: CMA CGM announces the launch of its new “Butterfly Morocco Shuttle” service

The French shipping group CMA CGM has announced the launch of its new “Butterfly Morocco Shuttle” service, linking Morocco, France and Spain.

This new weekly service, starting in Agadir on Monday, in addition to its contribution to Moroccan cabotage, will make it possible to set up a sustainable maritime bridge between Agadir and Port Vendres (France) for the next fruit and vegetable export campaign, said the group said in a statement.

The container ship owner promises ”a 75% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional transport by truck via this corridor”.

Two vessels under the Moroccan flag of 1100 TEU will be operated. ”They are equipped with 220 Reefer/45’RFH plugs and will operate the following rotation: Agadir/Port Vendres/Barcelona/Algeciras/Tangier Med/Casablanca/Agadir”, specifies CMA CGM.
