MARKET REVIEW. The New York Stock Exchange opened in dispersed order on Tuesday, misguided by signs of economic slowdown in China and Europe, at the start of a week shortened by a holiday and which promises to be poor in indicators and results.

The Toronto Stock Exchange opened lower.

In Toronto, the S&P/TSX lost 67.31 points (-0.33%) to 20,477.97 points.

In New York, the S&P 500 fell by 15.88 points (-0.35%) to 4501.31 points.

The Nasdaq lost 46.13 points (-0.33%) to 13,982.06 points.

The DOW decreased by 80.51 points (-0.23%) to 34,757.20 points.

The loon fell by US$0.0010 (-0.13%) to US$0.7345.

The oil rose US$1.59 (+1.86%) to US$87.14.

L’or fell by US$9.30 (-0.47%) to US$1,957.80.

The bitcoin fell by US$146.09 (-0.56%) to US$25,741.97.
