In 2023, Marseille Provence airport welcomed 10,800,254 passengers (+ 6.4% compared to 2019 and 18.1% compared to 2022), i.e. almost 648,400 more than in 2019. A record year in terms of number of travelers for, conversely, , a slight decline in the number of commercial flights (aircraft movements) (-0.7% of aircraft movements compared to 2019), a phenomenon due, among other things, to better occupancy of planes. “The results are good. The growth in the number of passengers is occurring within stability, underlines Philippe Benand, director of the site, despite the slight decrease in the movement of planes. The companies have changed their fleet. The planes are larger in size significant. Then, we see an improvement in the load factor.”
