- The traveling project visited four schools and used gaucho poetry to reflect on the value of coexistence.
In commemoration of Siblings’ Day, students from four municipal schools were entertained with the presence of “Martín Fierro”.
The mythical gaucho figure recited verses regarding brotherhood, extracted from the book published in 1872 by José Hernández.
The poem reinforced values to the children regarding the importance of bonds, solidarity and helping others.
“This activity seeks to better relate to a healthy coexistence project,” said the director of the Villa Siburu school, Julián Nazerre.
The activity was accompanied by the Undersecretary of Culture, Soledad Ferraro, and the General Director of Cultural Cooperation and Integration, Santiago Gómez.
The itinerary was during Monday morning and involved municipal schools “Dr. Julio Gonzalez” of the Arenales neighborhood, “Dr. Alfredo Orgaz” of St. George, School “Dr. John B. Justo” of Villa Siburu and, finally, “Dr. Carlos Becerra” of the Los Bananas neighborhood.
In Argentina, Brother’s Day is celebrated every March 4. A date that seeks to praise brotherly love and remember the importance of these bonds.
