Mass Deportation of Expatriates in Kuwait: Violations of Residence and Work Visa Rules

Kuwait City: Between January 2023 and August 19, 2023, 25,000 expatriates were deported from Kuwait. The action is for violation of residence work visa rules. Officials also stated that action was taken once morest an average of 108 people every day.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al Khalid issued a strict directive with the aim of ridding the country of law breakers. Among those deported were 10,000 women who violated various laws.

Action was also taken once morest the violators of visa laws, begging and drug abuse. Inspections and campaigns were conducted to find expatriates living in the country in violation of laws. By the end of 2023, the number of deportees will reach 35,000, officials said.
