Kottayam ∙ A house was broken into and robbed. They broke into the house of Fr. Jacob Nainan at Kooropada near Kottayam and stole 50 pav of gold. It is estimated that Rs 1 lakh has been lost. The preliminary conclusion is that the theft was carried out by a person who is closely familiar with the house.
The theft happened when the family went out for prayers. It was also found that chilli powder was sprinkled to destroy the evidence. A part of the stolen gold was later recovered from near the house.
