Long lines have been forming since around 5:35 p.m. on the Antwerp ring road towards the Netherlands following a spectacular accident near Antwerp-East, reports the Flemish Traffic Center (Vlaams Verkeerscentrum). A car overturned following colliding with a truck.
The driver of the car was not seriously injured and the vehicles involved have since been evacuated. But at 7:00 p.m., traffic jams were still reported on the entire Antwerp ring road to the Netherlands, as well as on the E17 and E34 from Waesland. Delays of up to an hour on usual journey times were reported in the early evening.
