The best offensive player in the second division is regarding to switch to Sturm Graz.

Salzburg’s Matthias Seidl is currently the hottest stock in Austria’s second division. With twelve goals, the attacking midfielder is the top scorer and has played a major role in the fact that Blau-Weiss Linz has a good chance of making it into the Bundesliga this season.

Strong performance at perspective course

At the end of last year, the 22-year-old was invited to a perspective course by ÖFB team boss Ralf Rangnick and immediately convinced the German. Rangnick sees a future national player in Seidl, but also told Kuchler that he should switch to a local top club by summer at the latest. There are enough interested parties: Rapid Wien, Austria Wien, LASK and Sturm Graz have tried hard for him in the past few months, and in the end runner-up Sturm will probably win the race.

Change to Sturm Graz is imminent

Seidl and his advisor Philipp Mirtl have been in talks with the Styrians for a long time, and the general conditions for a transfer in the summer are said to have already been laid out verbally. However, a contract has not yet been signed. “He’s an interesting Austrian player. Nothing is certain yet. It’s normal to deal with players like that,” confirmed Sturm’s sporting director Andreas Schicker, confirming the Bundesliga club’s interest. If Seidl also prevails in Graz, then the door to the national team will be wide open.
