Dundalk, Ireland – July 23, 2025 – Teh community of Dundalk is mourning the peaceful passing of Maureen Mullen (née Murphy), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who died on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Maureen,formerly of Cherryvale,bay Estate,passed away in the tender care of Blackrock Abby Nursing Home,surrounded by her loving family.
Maureen’s legacy is one of deep family devotion. she is predeceased by her husband, Gerry (guider), and her parents, Michael and Rose-Ella. She also joins her many siblings who have passed before her: Gerard,naula,Peter,Oliver,Agnes,Jim,Tony,michael,and Eamonn.
Her enduring love and memory will be cherished by her son, Tony, and her daughter, Maria. Maureen’s family circle further extends to her son-in-law, John Fitzgerald, and daughter-in-law, Taryna Mullen. Her adored grandchildren, Seán, Roísín, and Darragh, along with Seán’s partner Claire and Roísín’s husband Kevin, will carry her spirit forward. The joy of her life is beautifully reflected in her cherished great-grandchildren: Isabella, Sam, and Kate. Maureen also leaves behind her brothers, Brian and Vincent, along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, and a wide circle of wonderful neighbours and friends whose lives she touched profoundly.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Maria’s home, Hawthorn Crescent, Bay Estate [A91T6D6], on Thursday from 2 pm to 8 pm.The funeral cortege will depart on Friday morning at 10:40 am for St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church, where Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 o’clock. Following the service, Maureen will be laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
