Nouakchott, May 13 / WAM / Voting began today in Mauritania to elect a parliament of 176 deputies and 237 for a municipal council of 4,500 councilors and 13 regional councils.

More than 33,000 candidates, including 10,000 women, will participate in the elections.
The total number of voters who are entitled to vote in today’s polls is 1,785,000 voters and 36 people, 52% of whom are women, distributed among 4,728 polling stations across the country.
