Former Yakult pitcher Scott McGuff has agreed to a two-year contract with the Diamondbacks. The news was reported by local media outlet Arizona Central.

33-year-old McGuff joined Yakult in the 2018 off. In his first year, 2019, he pitched 65, and in 2020 he pitched 50, supporting the bullpen team. He has been entrusted with the guardian angel from 2021, and marked 31 saves last season and 38 saves this season. He helped the team to two league titles in a row. He has pitched in 236 NPB games, 15 wins, 8 losses, 80 saves, 59 holds, and an ERA of 2.94.

He was removed from the reserve list on the 2nd and was announced as a free contract player. If he plays in the majors next season, it will be the first time in eight years since 2015 when he was a Marlins.
