Medical Interns Demand Security in Social Service Internships – NBC Los Angeles

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mex- Medical interns at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) continue to demonstrate due to the lack of response from the authorities to provide them with protection in their social service practices that they have described as unsafe.

The foregoing, due to the fact that last Thursday 56 positions were assigned in the Sierra de Chihuahua such as Guachochi, Gómez Farias, Masera, Balleza, among other clinical fields with reports of insecurity by previous interns.

Recently, the murder of Dr. Massiel Mexia Medina, who worked at the Regional Hospital of San Juanito, Chihuahua, was revealed.

The interns have exposed the shortages they face when they are sent to rural communities that they do not know.

Professionals also ask that the way in which the social service of medical interns is provided be reformed because it has been decades without being adequate to the present

Through a statement, the university demanded that the health sector instances give priority to the integrity of the graduates and relocate them to safe populations.
