The World Cup entourage of biathletes will pitch their tents in Östersund, Sweden, from today, Thursday, March 9th, until next Sunday. There today the women (1.15 p.m.) and the men (4.20 p.m.) start in singles. In both competitions there are four shooting bouts to be completed, a mistake is always punished with a penalty minute.
The German biathlon team goes into the World Cup races in Östersund with no changes. The line-up is once once more led by sprint world champion Denise Herrmann-Wick and former world champion Benedikt Doll. In addition to Herrmann-Wick, the women start with Janina Hettich-Walz, Hanna Kebinger, Sophia Schneider, Vanessa Voigt and Anna Weidel.
