Suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, bullying… social networks like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok are accused of increasing the discomfort of many adolescents. Long in denial, the tech giants are now under so much pressure on this subject that they are striving to show their credentials. Officially, their services are prohibited for those under 13, but all specialists agree on the fact that children create their accounts much earlier.

In a new turn of the screw, the latest to date, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram indicated this week to reduce sensitive search results linked to content promoting suicide and self-harm or even eating disorders. YouTube, the platform that teenagers use the most, invites them to go to bed between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. to prevent them from sacrificing their nights watching videos.
