Around two weeks following introducing access restrictions for young people on Facebook and Instagram, Meta is launching further protection mechanisms for minors. Young users of the two social media platforms are protected from unwanted direct messages, as Meta announced on Thursday. On Instagram, you will no longer receive notifications from people you do not follow or are not connected to on the platform. They also needed parental consent to change certain settings in the app.
