The Venezuelan outfielder for the Miami Marlins, Avisaíl García, was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday.

According to the Las Mayores report, the criollo suffers from stiffness in the left part of his back. His disqualification is retroactive to April 29.

To replace Avisail on the roster, the Fish moved up from Triple-A Jacksonville to infielder Xavier Edwards, who has three homers and eight RBIs this season.

Avisail, who had missed the past two games, hit just .188 with three home runs in the first month of the season.

The man from Anaco is playing his 12th campaign in the Majors, the second with the Marlins. He hits .264 with 138 home runs for life.
