PASOK’s Ilio MP, Michalis Katrinis, launched an attack on the government for its handling of the catastrophic fires in Attica, saying among other things that along with Attica, the “staff” state of Kyriakos Mitsotakis was burned.

It is clear that the doctrine of firefighting and fire protection must be changed since, as a result, it is proving to be ineffective. Theatrical visits of the prime minister and ministers to the Coordination must also be stopped.
These kinds of practices insult the intelligence of the citizens, they also insult those who are fighting to deal with the fiery conflagration. The first priority now is to immediately pay compensation to those affected by the fire, to restore the infrastructure that was destroyed and then to assume the responsibilities that are certain to exist from the moment the fire broke out and reached the urban fabric.
The lies are over, the citizens don’t want any more announcements and words.”
