Michel Rochat is a happy man. The director of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) will preside this Friday at the inauguration of a brand new campus at Chalet-à-Gobet, on the heights of Lausanne. The project was born regarding ten years ago, the work lasted five years and required investments of 250 million francs. One thousand beds to accommodate students, 12 catering outlets including a top-of-the-range brasserie open to the public, sports facilities and workspace will constitute the new environment of one of the most prestigious hotel schools in the world. At the head of EHL for twelve years, Michel Rochat, 66, will leave his post at the end of the year. Interview.
