Ann Mones, Beloved Castlebar Resident, Passes Away Peacefully


Ann Mones, of Castlebar and formerly of Newport Road, Castlebar, Clonkey, and Cogaula, Westport, has died peacefully at Galway Clinic. She was surrounded by her devoted family during her final moments.

She is predeceased by her husband, John, and her sister, Mary B. Her passing leaves a significant void in the community and among her loved ones.

A Life Remembered

Ann Mones is deeply mourned by her daughters, Marie (Kildare), Chris Scriney (Castlebar), Susan (Castlebar), and Joanne (Australia). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, david, Laura, Darragh, Ruth, Nathan, Leona, and Eabha, and also her great-grandson, Levi.

Further survived by her brother, Pat, sister Tereasa, sons-in-law Paul, Brendan, and John, and a wide circle of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbors, and friends. Her impact extended far and wide.

Funeral Arrangements

Ann will be lying in repose at Coady’s funeral Home, Castlebar (F23 XY63) on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by removal to her family home.

A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.in the Church of The Holy Rosary, with burial to follow in Castlebar New Cemetery. The family requests that thier home remain private at this time.

Donations and Viewing Details

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mayo Roscommon Hospice c/o Coady’s Funeral Home. This gesture would honor Ann’s memory and support a vital community resource.
