MIFF 2022: Malayalam film Saakshatkaaram wins best short film award

Malayalee shines at Mumbai International Film Festival Sudesh Balan’s ‘Sakshatkara’ won the award for Best Short Film. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh, a citation and a trophy.

The film tells the story of a man who mourns the death of his wife. The jury opined that the story of the realization was one that transcended religious boundaries and nurtured humanity.

Guest Krishnadas’ ‘Kandithundu’ won the award for Best Animated Film. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh, a citation and a trophy. The film is set in the folklore of Kerala.
