Mikkel Bjerg Wins Stage 4 of Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré with Record-Breaking Time Trial Speed

Mikkel Bjerg created a sensation this Wednesday by winning the fourth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré, a 31.1 km time trial between Cours and Belmont-de-la-Loire. The Dane from Team Emirates (24) won in 37’28” (average: 49.804 km/h), the first victory of his career. He was ahead of his compatriot Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma, 12”) and the former French champion in the specialty Rémi Cavagna (Soudal-Quickstep, 27”).

21st in the stage (1’50”), Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma) gave up his yellow leader’s jersey to Mikkel Bjerg.
