“It all started in an office building in the center of Algiers, with the sound of a confident voice, the elegant body of a man, his certain presence. Whatever the subject of this meeting, the essential is elsewhere: Sarah discovers Karim. This man a little older than her. This man who lives in France. This man, already married. And yet, beyond what makes their love impossible, she will become for Karim the wife of Algiers. In the streets of the city, at night or in the rooms of their secret rendezvous, the forbidden story of two lovers is then written.

With this first novel, Mina Namous makes us hear the beats of the heart of Algiers, the voices of a world in transition where modernity intertwines with tradition, a megalopolis where the Arab world and the West meet. And in this maze, like a song muffled by taboos rises the story of a young woman of today who loves, who lives and who seeks to be free. ” (Presentation of Dalva editions)
