The Minister of Education Caroline Désir has mandated a law firm to become a civil party and support the complaints filed by the organizing authorities concerned by the wave of bomb threats in schools in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, she announced on Monday.

This wave, observed at the end of October and the beginning of November, experienced a response on Sunday evening with an alert for nearly 30 schools in Brussels and Walloon Brabant of the Wallonia-Brussels Education (WBE) network. Some 10,000 students were affected this Monday by the school closures.

On November 10, Ms. Désir (PS) questioned the Ministers of the Interior and Justice to set up a centralized investigation. “An update on the situation was communicated to them today in order to once once more draw their attention to these actions which are undermining the functioning of our schools and creating an anxiety-provoking climate,” according to the minister’s office.
