Representative Hind Rashad, Secretary of the Culture and Media Committee in the House of Representatives, praised the Ministry of Health’s preparations to launch a new initiative during the coming period to detect physical and psychological diseases.
Rashad said that this initiative comes as a continuation of the presidential initiatives related to examining the health of citizens, and aims to create psychologically balanced youth capable of working and producing, which contributes to achieving the comprehensive development of the state.
The member of the House of Representatives explained that the initiative will work according to three axes, one of which is for early detection of autism spectrum disorders, the second is to combat excessive use of the Internet and electronic games, while the third initiative aims to combat and treat addiction.
Representative Hind Rashad pointed out that mental illness does not mean mental imbalance, but rather some life pressures and exposure to a number of problems cause psychological imbalance in some people, and turning to a specialist doctor will work to solve these problems and restore psychological balance and self-confidence to the citizen.
The Secretary of the Culture and Information Committee of the House of Representatives confirmed that this initiative will contribute to discovering many talents among children or youth, which contributes directly to achieving sustainable development and supporting the state in building the new republic by eliminating some of the crimes caused by psychological crises.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting to discuss the plan and stages of work of a new health initiative, in preparation for its launch during the coming period, within the framework of achieving health integration on the physical and psychological levels.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the minister reviewed a presentation reviewing the work axes of the new initiative, of which mental health is one of its basic pillars.
