Ministry of Justice opens textile workshop that employs women deprived of liberty from Buen Pastor

Asuncion, IP Agency.- A workshop for women in prison was inaugurated at the Casa del Buen Pastor Penitentiary Center, as part of the social reintegration policies promoted by the Ministry of Justice.

The textile workshop is possible through an alliance with the company Doble A, dedicated to the manufacture of business and industrial uniforms.

Participating women will be able to generate an income through this initiative, said the Minister of Justice, Rodrigo Nicora. “It is our obligation as a State to provide opportunities to women deprived of their liberty,” he said.

He also thanked the company Doble A and its owner Oscar Gómez for carrying out the project, which will also be installed in the Regional Penitentiary of Villarrica.

The agreement with the Ministry of Justice establishes that the women who participate in the project will receive technical training from company professionals and will work for the company in a textile workshop that operates in a confined environment.
