By the end of 2022, the Thai Ministry of Public Health aims to declare “the new coronavirus is endemic” by its own standards without waiting for the announcement of the World Health Organization. Each report on January 27, 2022 reports.
Thailand’s own standard that “new coronavirus is endemic” is as follows.
・ 10,000 or less new positives per day
・ Case fatality rate does not exceed 0.1%
More than 80% of people at risk have been vaccinated twice
If the new coronavirus is declared endemic, it may require patients and those who need it to wear masks.
Currently, everyone is obliged to wear a mask in public places, and offenders are fined up to 20,000 baht.
