A true miracle. A 13-year-old child is considered cured of brain cancer, a world first. Lucas suffered from an infiltrative brainstem glioma, one of the deadliest pediatric brain cancers. This cancer affects between 50 and 100 children per year in France.
“Lucas’ tumor had an extremely rare mutation and we believe it was this mutation that made his tumor cells much more sensitive to the drug“, explains his doctor.
Now, medical professionals are engaged in a quest to understand the exceptional circumstances that led to Lucas’ remission, in the hope that his case can benefit other children.
