[música]♪♪[música]Carolina: Two illinois patients underwent a double lung transplant following being born with a rare inverted lung.[llanto]>> it’s a gift from god.>> it’s the best gift i might receive as a mother.reporter: this woman mightn’t hold back her tears following the opportunity to live.>> the first thing is that i can breathe well.i can do many things that i mightn’t do before. reporter: yajaira was one of two patients who received a double lung transplant in less than a month in a single operation performed at northwestern hospital in chicago, for a rare disease known as reverse organs and in which the lung develops in a mirror image>> is a mirror image. the heart is inverted and the right lung is on the left side and vice versa.reporter: yajaira was diagnosed with the disease since she was born.>> my lungs would get clogged with phlegm many times.>> she mightn’t walk five steps without running out of breath.[llanto]>> now i even tell him to wait for me. it was a miracle from god. people who suffer from this condition. he was put on the waiting list and nine days later a donor was found. yajaira met the other person who received the transplant. birthday, which he shares with the doctor who says it saved their lives. >> now i can live. reporter: as part of the recovery process ,
