“I did not suffer physical violence but physical intimidation in front of witnesses”, another internal source in the administration tells us. “Morally, all signatories (from mail to college) have experience of being bullied and doing things beyond what is acceptable.”

We of course asked for the reaction of the mayor of Molenbeek. Here is what Catherine Moureaux answered us:

“It is extremely painful for me to react to what appears to be ranting or manipulation to portray me as a violent person. It borders on harassment to experience this. I have never yelled at anyone or threatened anyone. As in any work dynamic at the head of a municipality of 100,000 inhabitants and several thousand civil servants, I sometimes clarify certain professional aspects, and always with respect for the rules and people .”

After municipal councils canceled for lack of quorum, an alderwoman appointed thanks to the votes of the opposition and the highest civil servant in the municipality who renounces her mandate, times seem difficult in Molenbeek for Catherine Moureaux.
