Month of Contemporary Music #8 – radio3

Four weeks of new music, sound art, music theatre, real-time music, improvisation and discourse

The Month of Contemporary Music is the umbrella festival of the contemporary music scene in Berlin. For a month, its participants present over 120 concerts, installations and performances with current works and a wide variety of artistic positions on around 50 stages.

This high density offers new audiences the opportunity to get to know the multifaceted contemporary music scene, as well as connoisseurs the opportunity to gain an overview of current developments in music.

The MdzM program includes contemporary vocal and chamber music as well as improvised and real-time music, music theater and sound art, and everything in between. Current works can be discovered in concerts, performances and sound installations, and artists provide insights into creative processes in panel discussions.

Berlin is considered to be one of the most exciting scenes for contemporary music worldwide, as it is organized in a decentralized manner and can be encountered anywhere and at any time. And so it can be experienced throughout the month in concert halls (Philharmonie, Konzerthaus, Pierre Boulez Saal), on free stages (including KM28, Morphine Raum, Kotti-Shop, ausland) and in public places (including Tiergarten).
