The family of the young man who died inside the US Atlanta prison has demanded an investigation. It is alleged that the prison was full of insects and dust and the conditions were unsanitary and that the death was caused by maggots.
A young man named Lazon Thompson was arrested by the police on June 12, 2022. The young man was later booked into the Fulton County Jail, citing mental illness. Four months later, on September 13, he was found motionless. The police confirmed that CPR was given but it did not work and he died.
The lawyer argued that the unsanitary conditions in the jail were the cause of the death. The lawyer says that from the pictures of the young man who was found dead, the unsanitary environment can be seen and the body was covered in dirt. The medical officer, who said there was no physical injury, had confirmed the infection in the body. It is reported that the body was covered with blankets.
