MOPC will sanction transporters who charge more than G. 2,300 for the ticket

Asuncion, IP.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has inspectors on the streets and has set up the 021-440-855 line to report public transport companies that charge more than 2,300 guaraníes for fares. They also announced that they will sanction companies that do not comply with the provision.

Last week, the President of the Republic, Horacio Cartes, ordered the reduction of the fare to 2,300 guaraníes, which will take effect this Tuesday.

“Companies that engage in these practices will be prosecuted and risk losing their route. In turn, the MOPC has inspectors on the street who will verify and sanction businessmen who do not comply with the provisions of President Horacio Cartes to charge a fare of G. 2,300,” said this Tuesday in contact with 970 AM the Minister of Works, Ramón Jiménez Gaona.

He stressed that inspectors are on the streets to control the price of fares. “The instruction is to identify those who do not comply and sanction them,” the Secretary of State explained.
