DONGHAE, Gangwon-do – In a delightful blend of culture and commerce, thousands flocked to the ‘Nolto Osam, Baran Season 2’ event held at Donghae’s outdoor plaza on the afternoon of the 14th. This urban regeneration project not only aimed to celebrate the region’s rich heritage but also to invigorate Donghae’s commercial sector.
Street Food replace with “Osam Bulgogi” Delights
The city’s indoor plaza of the East Sea Central Market hosted the squid-centric festivities, a nod to Donghae’s historically prosperous Mukho Port. Over 1,000 eager attendees sampled Osam Bulgogi and an assortment of fish cake delicacies, while exploring the market’s offerings.
New additions Ensured a Dynamic Atmosphere
The event introduced new highlights this year, including a vibrant photo zone featuring color therapy, attracting tourists and locals alike. As the evening set, the city transformed the area into a lively Saturday night Osambul Meat Party, bringing back the glory days of Mukho Port.

Director Chung Ha-yeon of the Urban Maintenance Division emphasized the significance of such festivals, stating, “We aim to regenerate the city’s business and cultural vibrancy through initiatives like these.” The festival reinvigorated the traditional market, turning the once-stagnant area into a bustling commercial hub.
